About Reiki

What is Reiki?

Reiki is a Japanese word meaning universal (rei) life force energy (ki). Reiki does not diagnose or treat disease. As a universal life force energy, Reiki can gently release stress, tension, and restore the body, mind and spirit to their natural equilibrium.

How does Reiki work?

Reiki practitioners act as a conduit for life force energy that naturally exists in all living things. My lineage of Reiki training views the practitioner as a non-judgmental witness rather than a healer. You have everything you need inside of you. It is an honor to hold space for and witness my clients’ healing journey.

What does a Reiki session with Sabrina look like?

A Reiki session starts with us talking about what brings you in and anything you might want to share about how you’re feeling in your mind and body. The hands on portion of the session consists of the client lying, fully clothed, on a massage table while I intuitively place or hover my hands on/over my client’s body. Receiving Reiki can feel like heat, tingling, or pulsing where my hands are, or throughout your body. Some people get so relaxed that they fall asleep. Other people don’t notice any physical feelings but that doesn’t mean that anything is wrong or that the Reiki isn’t working.

“You are the universe

in ecstatic motion.”
